It started as a Diamant (Nakamura) hybrid, shimano XT 9-speed triple with tektro hydraulic breaks.
I had a few parts laying around from previous projects, so it ended up as a CX with Shimano 105 dual 10-speed.
This is my daily commute. I guess i save 2 minutes to and from work per day after the build ;) I have tried it four a week with 28mm 4-season tires, but changed to 2" maxxis today.
I think I will keep it as a gravel bike for now.

-20" Diamant Hybrid frame.
-stock(heavy) wheelset
-Shimano 105 STI 10sp shifters
-Shimano 105 Crank
-Shimano 105 rear derailleur
-Shimano cx70 front derailleur
-Shimano Ultegra Chain
-Avid BB5 breaks
-Cannondale C3 handlebars
-Cannondale C3 seatpost
-Bontrager 120mm stem
-Bontrager RL seat

Yes, I think this Hybrid to Gravel conversion idea really has some merit for those who like to mess around with projects and save some cash. A lot of the more casual riding oriented hybrids have shortish top tubes in order to keep the rider in an upright position which works perfectly with a drop bar conversion.

Nice building, I love these projects with parts people have in the shed. It actually looks nice too!

I was very luck that I had 1mm clearens between outer ring and frame as well as 1mm clearence between crank arm and frame.
Also the length of 120mm stem and 300mm seatpost I had laying around fits perfectly.
For hilly trails the 34:28 ratio is a bit heavy, but I will try with a 11-30 or 11-32 cassette in future.

Weight is just over 10kg at the moment.

Very nice! I've done the same with a BMC AC01 105 Alpenchallenge.
It's got its flaws and is far from perfect but love it.

Well done.

thats hawt! I love converting my bikes to fat tire dirt shredders. Just lose the extra ring in front and get a big cassette.
