The chainring seems to be on the outside - how thick are the spacers between the chainring and the outer chain guard? I assume you had to make a cut out in the chain guard to make it work with the Exogram cranks.

It would be really great if SRAM did a Type 2 version of the Red derailleur (or a shorter version of the XX1 derailleur) for cross use.

They make an x0 shortcage type 2, can handle an 11-36. Perfect for a single ring hard tail/ cross bike.

Tell us about that set up. Looks very interesting. Chainring size, cassette ratio, what are the guards etc
