Best frame in the ~$700 range?
Moderator: Moderator Team
Looking at giving cross a go this season and looking and building up a frame with maybe Rival. Currently eyeing Chili con Crosso and Crux frames, but can't decide. Which frame/fork combo would be lighter?
What are some other options?
I also have a set of Dura-ace 7850 c24s, would these be cross worthy for a ~150lber?

I have a 53cm 2012 Chili Con Crosso. My fork is a confirmed 466g cut with crown race on. As for the frame, I don't know. I've read that it's 1520g but I have a hard time believing this frame really weighs 3.35lbs. I actually stumbled across this post googling "CHili Con Crosso frame weight" . I don't really want to strip the bike to weigh it

I went with a 'group buy' deal on the Pedal Force CX2. I actually have the frame and fork unbuilt and can weight them if you'd like.

Got it for ~600 shipped. Going to build it into a single speed.

Don't have one but thought this might be worth looking at:

I picked up one of the unstickered Ridleys from Nashbar. I got the 2011 x-night (tapered headtube, bb30, internal routing). It might be out of your price range, but coupons are their thing . . .
