So, I've had these wheels for about a year now. They are a disaster.

The rims are fine, no problems there. The Dash hubs were a mess from day 1. On the front, the end cap fell off and the axle fell right out. The rear lasted for a few rides, and then became a creaking nightmare that neither I nor a bike shop could fix for more than a few rides.

Hate to criticize any small company, but I wrote Dash about these issues over a month ago and never heard back from them. I've noticed that they discontinued the hubs that I have, presumably because they were just not reliable.

All told, I've ridden these wheels a total of 10, maybe 12 times before I gave up, both from annoyance and concern for my safety. At some point I'm going to get the rims laced up to some reliable hubs.

This is a quote from Dash website. What me and some others try to tell members here is that Made in the USA or other western world countries plus an exorbitant price level does not guarantee you a product any better than "cheap" far east components.What is guaranteed is less money in your account.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

It really depends on which company. On the other side of this, there are plenty of stories about chinese wheels and frame issues that were pretty bad.

Exactly what I am trying to tell. What I would recommend is not to listen to forum stories. Get some far-sports wheels and/or hong-fu frame test them and you will know better.

Moral of this story is, don't put yourself out there to be some company's R&D monkey, and definitely don't pay full retail for the privilege.
