I would just like to confirm I picked up some 11spd campag kmc links from work today and they fit and run with no issues at all. although stiff to remove, at least its possible!

KMC does say 11-spd Campagnolo and 11-spd Shimano..

Until recently it was advertised campag only, as does the packaging they come in. only until I saw that link id held back from using them.

Two more DA9000 carbon spiders have failed on me now, both at one of the rivets that holds the sprocket to the spider. That is an 11-25, 12-25 and 12-28 all failed in the last 6 months.

I pulled the 12-28 off before catastrophic failure could occur, i.e only the head of a rivet had popped of. Not so lucky on the 12-25. I could tell while riding something was not right, felt like the chain was skipping and was very creaky, but deep down I knew it was the cassette, one big effort later (forgot) and boom sprockets everywhere.

Wont be an issue now as Ultegra 11 speed is out.

Are you sure CS-6800 is carbon free?
Then what does the "carbon x 1" refers to on the package?

Not sure, I was just going off what the LBS have told me. The link below shoes an exploded view of the Ultegra CS-6800 cassette, note the different configuration of the spiders, 3 first and 2 second, whereas DA9000 is 2 first, 3 second. Not sure if than really means anything but that packaging does appear to convey there is 1 x carbon part.

Then I found this
http://www.pinoymtbiker.org/forum/showt ... hp?t=93239" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Shows a carbon looking mid spider with on the 2 sprockets like in the exploded. Perhaps a carbon spider that only takes 2 sprockets is stronger.

There's always a Force 22 cassette option out there too. FWIW, I had some ticking initially but after a re-torque of the cassette I haven't had any issues with the DA cassette.

Take a look at this tweet from George Bennett just today (a pro rider from Team Radioshack).

I have just upgraded to 9070. Now I'm very worried about my $250 cassette.

There's a huge gap between the largest cog and the hub flange. My guess is that the carbon spider exploded so the alloy spider just slid towards the outside, causing the chain to get jammed. I will see if I could get an answer from George.

George just finished the US Pro Challenge in 8th place on the GC. I can't imagine him riding anything but Dura Ace. I'll be even more surprised if the failed cassette is an Ultegra which some have indicated it also has a carbon spider. In any case I just sent him an email to get more details. Stay tuned.
