I'm wondering if this can be achieved.

I have a light 15 mm thru axle MTB disc front hub with the axle broken, and no end caps (I know this is "road", but many more people with wheelbuilding background here so I figured...).
I can't obtain the original parts from the original manufacturer.
The hub looks like pretty standard "asian style" MTB hub.

So I'm wondering if I found some standard 15 mm axle (that fit right in a 6803 bearing cartridge), and end caps with 17 mm in diameter, would that be fine ?

I guess I have to shop and see a lot of designs, compare, ...

Anybody did this kind of fiddling ?

Louis :)

Can you find a local machine shop to manufacture the end caps. We did this for an axle upgrade from QR to 15 and that worked fine.
