What's the best shifting cable set for SRAM Rival, I'm not
really looking to save any weight in here, I just want it to work
as expected, be reliable and somewhat long lasting.

I did use the search function but there's too many choices out there and
most are focused on weight savings, I'm trying to find the best cables locally
so I don't have to wait to fix my bike.

Gore Ride-On as used in RED?

Slick Wire cable kit from SRAM?

Any other after market options worth buying?

Thanks for the help, I'm still new at this cycling stuff, loving every
minute of it :D

Gore Ride on is OK but gets "furry" as the coating wears. Recommend good old dura ace outers with the thinner sram wires as the best combo.

Excuse my ignorance again but.. Can I buy the dura ace outers by themselves and then
just the SRAM wires? Well if anything I'll ask around a couple of shops here in town and
see what they say.

Thanks for the help.

Yokozuna are the best I and my team mates have used. They shift fast. Brake well too.

I'm currently using Yokozuna with Powercordz. Prior to using Powercordz I always used Yokozuna housing and SRAM Teflon coated cables.

Your shop should be able to sell da outer by the metre and sram cable sets.

The change in shifting makes you think you have a groupset one level better than what you already have. The housings are that stiff, that it creates a faster shifting response.

The brake housing is the same way, but oddly enough, I had to omit the piece from my toptube to rear brake because the housing was so stiff, that the bend was creating friction. Replaced with a piece of jagwire, and it conformed to the necessary bend better, and problem was solved.

I'm a broke arse grad student, and as long as I can afford to do so, I'm going to stick with yokozuna.

I never got around to trying the Yokozuna housing, now I wish I had :|

I'm currently running generic Jagwire housing with the PTFE cables from REI, I was really impatient as soon as I got a
2012 RED FD so I just bought whatever was available locally. So far it works very good, I guess I will have to wait a long time
before I get to try new housing, I don't want to mess around with it if it works and specially after getting new 3T handlebar tape.

Yokozuna. My preference for SRAM.

I have the Jagwire Racer kit, the Yokozuna were great but I had too many issues with their rigidity.

The Jagwire kit feels just as good, I also like the black cables.

My preference for Sram? I links, standard and mini's. combined with a powercordz inner.

I've been using red with gore ride-on pro for just about one year. Last week I test rode an Evo that the demo guy said was about two weeks old. I couldn't believe the difference in how crisp the shifting was compared to my bike. I didn't think my shifting was slow/bad/sub-par until last week.

The evo was using shimano housings. The demo guy wasn't sure about the inners.

I'm certain there could be additional contributing factors to my experience. I'm ditching the gore cables and either going with yokozuna or nokons.

Are Yokozuna too stiff for a Cervelo S2 with internal cables? or are they a good match?
