Hi, I'm currently undertaking a bike build. I have the hydraulic brake hose but will need to cut them and install the barb.

Can I just use a Stanley knife to cut the hose, and use my hand to push the barb in?

Best 2-in-1 tool for the money. Save yourself a lot of trouble.

Another suggestion would be to search Amazon for Dymoece Upgraded Needle Driver Insertion Tool.

My take is that you can do it manually, you just need to be careful and precise. Getting the barb in is easy, making sure the cut it square is trickier. I did that on a recent build and it was fine, in hindsight I would have bought the cheap tool but too late now
