Perfect way to make a world class bike look like it was on sale in the local hardware store.


The cannondale evo looks cool with the color matched sram components.

Last weekend I saw (in the Netherlands) the new Cannondale Evo with Sram Red. A great looking bike, but I was not convinced and pleased about the paintjob. I could feel and see that Cannondale used stickers and the edges of the stickers were not tight all the time. Good to see that Cannondale put lacques or a coating on top of the stickers and the whole frame. Did I see a less painted frame or do all the painted EVO Sram Red frames look like this?

He's showing the "ultimate" model. Which is very nice but costs $12,000. I wonder if the $5500 Sram model's frame weighs the same?

Can't help but notice Sagan winning in Poland yesterday - on a SuperSix again.

Liquigas have seemingly only raced the Evo at Le Tour. I can't say that makes me want to swap.

Geometry is different (better or worse) and Cannondale is very likely lighter.

I am a heavy rider (>200 lbs). I don't like a lot of spacers under the stem so will the Tarmac suits me better?
Is a Tarmac a more aggresive ride (more nervous) or less comfy then a Supersix?

You'll need to find out your current fit. Based on that fit's ideal stack/reach numbers, you can figure out which frames are ideal for your body's geometry. Every manufacturer provides geometries for their frames on their websites. If they do not provide stack/reach information, that can be calculated easily.

Also, you are best to test ride each frame before making a decision. Luckily there are plenty of Cannondale and Specialized dealers around, so arranging a test ride will be easy. Go forth and make your own decisions based on your own perceptions of how the frame rides beneath your body based on how you ride.

So The only way is to do some test rides and make a decision about a compact frame or not. Decisions have to be made Difficult!

Got mine on Saturday, 52cm Red equipped. Did lightweight tubes, cut setpost, some ti bolts, speedplay Zero Ti's, and Ti bolt on Skewers, 13.4#'s as of today. Ordered Sram Red rear cog to replace the Force one and a tune 13 gram expander/carbon cap to replace the 50 gram stocker. Like to get close to 13.0 without doing wheels yet. Overall im very happy with it, climbs great!
