Funny. My son is on the 20" version of the same bike and loves the paint scheme. He is very patriotic. hahaha

In Canada, kids are not allowed to race on carbon rims before age 17 I think.
I'm stunned when I see small bikes with carbon wheels...Guess it's meant to satisfy our narcissic needs more than the kids's...

I think that rule applies to all juniors worldwide... no carbon rims, no tubulars. Junior gearing as well. At least for sanctioned races. But I know, for myself, I want to build my son the lightest set of wheels I can for the upcoming Mt. Washington Hill Climb. It's not narcissism... it's simply trying to provide him the most appropriate equipment for the purpose. Were it a sanctioned event, I would stick to the rules. But since there are no rules for this event, I want to give him the lightest wheels I can afford.

Here's the epitome of kid's bike craziness. Does this dad think his daughter is a kid or a lab rat? I guess no one makes 16 x 1" slicks so he's going to make up the difference with an aero bar and a helmet that weighs half of her body weight.

SRAM levers offer adjustable reach which works well.
Shimano offers short reach shifters. (ST-R600)
Spcialized offers shims (
http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bc/SBC ... spid=57427 ) which can be used for a variety of levers. My son is using these on a set of Dura Ace levers.
