Hi all,

I've been riding my 06 Allez into the ground for the past 9 years, and now that I've got a bit more time and money I'd like to upgrade. I am very much intrigued by everyone's beautiful self-built/self-composed bikes. They are awesome. However, that is beyond my skill as a mechanic. A new wheelset/fork/saddle etc. I CAN do.

My question to you:

How can I best spend my €2000? Do I just buy off-the-shelf bike X? Do I buy bike Y and replace the wheels with set A? Or set B?

I would love to hear your thoughts, so far I have considered everything from Colnago and Cervelo through Planet X and Rose Bikes. Again, looking forward to your ideas.

Many thanks in advance!

With that money - you can easily build a bike that weighs under 5.5kg / 12.2lbs.

If you want to spend the time to source deals or buy a few parts used - you can spend even less on on the same bike.

I'm assuming that because you are posting on WW - you are looking to make an extremely light bike :)

Something Canyon. Pick your favorite.
