Just wanted to hear what you guys thing about these two frames? I'm looking to buy a new road frame but cannot decide which one to go with. Has anybody ridden a felt scandium frame? or the Scandium-Carbon frame that felt has this coming year? I have found tons of reviews on the Giant TCR but none on the felt. Help!!!!!!

Wait for the new TCR Carbon, it's lighter, stiffer and has a better life span due to the new carbon, according to Mike Burrows (The designer) anyway!

I was told the only difference in TCR composite frames was the paint job from 03 model to 04? Is this correct?

yeah, its not paint though, the '03s are matte carbon, while the '04s are shiny

Are you guys talking about this frame? i think the frame looks really plain. what type of carbon are they going to use on this frame?

All I know is that all of T-Mobile will be using the new TCRs this year.

I believe it utilizes uni-direction fibers. I'm not sure they will be stronger, they will be lighter. You can see how everything is reduced. The joints are smaller the tubes are smaller. It might be a little bit stronger but not but much. Uni-direction is stronger so they can use less material for the (about)same amount of strength and loose a ton of weight.

Thanks for all the input. So is the TCR 04 model different than the 03? Lighter and stronger? I think I'm going to buy the TCR, but now I want to know if I should get the 04 model or try to find a cheaper 03 model? Thanks

They are the same. Only difference is astetic.

the frames i build are mostly uni, the lugs are uni with exception of the top layer for cosmetics. the tubes are pure uni. the imported rear stays are a mixture of uni, 3k plain weave..

uni allows for much more "engineering" and one can build a liter frame, but the caveat is engineering, it cannot be just slapped in without regard.

Why not use full uni, or does it look different from 3k carbon weave?
