Hi just wondering if any scott owners can help me out. I've got a 2004 (no yellow stickers) cr1 team issue frameset . The fork is roughly 430 grams at 30cm steerer length. I'm trying to get it right on uci legal and was wondering if anyone knew how many grams I'd save by cutting it to 20cm? Thanks.

I guess it is about 3 grams per cm. So you could cut off 30 grams

I happened to have a piece of a look hsc5 fork and it weighs 14,5 gr. for 5,4 cm. So around 3 gr/cm sounds right.

I weighed a 7.65mm piece of Fondriest Top Carb fork. It came in at 28g or 3.66g/mm. It has a sturdy 3mm steerer wall thickness however.
