itm the stem safe or not

:D are itm the stem safe has any ww had any bad experience with them thinking of one . or should i go with the syntace or ritchey wcs

I have that stem but there has been some reports of it being unsafe. I'm too cheap to replace it.
From what I've heard on this forum the Ritchey wcs stem is the way to go.

i had one snap on me,without any warning :cry: ..i had just about got home after being out on the local c/g when it just snapped,if i had been on the c/g when it went dont want to think about the mess i would have been in :evil:.so if i was you i would not buy one.

THE STEM is a strange one. Set up properly it is fine for a light weight rider. ie. under 140 lbs. Unless you are a very expieranced mechanic I would not recomend you install the stem yourself. I am a bit of a ham fist and I broke one of the bolts even when using the required tourge wrench. be very careful with this stem.
