please do NOT not insert it! if you do, you will definately void all warranty claims on the frameset. I'd suggest looking for a light stubby post, instead of saving 30g and finding great grief when you find the tube crimped.
there have been quite a few people posting light alternatives to the stubby Ritchey? just search on weightweenies!
cheers,
Passione

I actually need to lower my seat at least 5mm,by taking off the insert it lowered down 3mm and shreaded 30g..Im also wondering if all ISP like scott addict comes with an insert as well?.

Kicking this up.
The Addict doesn't have an insert, atleast mine hasn't.
The Addict has thicker carbon at the clamping area than the cento superleggara, but the superleggera a wider diameter seatpost.
On another forum some bike tech claimed that the insert on the cento was only needed when clamping the stubby very high with very little seatpost left.
Some other views on this 30gram saving quest?

Carboner
Sort your length out then have a few wraps of extra carbon laid in.

The alu inster/shim you can see here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hk4IUSDKTlg#t=129. Does it have to be inside your seatpost? Because I just bought a Cento1 SR frame and there was no aluminium part with it.
