Grand Bois are very nice (have ridden both the 26 and the 28, which is close to 29-30 actually).

Another big thumbs up for 25mm Krylions.
I've done the Finestre many a time on the same pair without them looking the worse for wear. Really impressive endurance (unlike me)

I wouldn't know what size but I clearly remember that early TDF riders were
running wider tire in the front and narrower in the back for gravel roads.
I find it interesting.

If you adapt your ride to a 650b rim and tire, then you can run even wider tires than a 28mm tire.
Sooo, one vote for a 650b tire such as the 42mm tire.
