Just wondering, it seems like the ksyriums have been out for about 5 years with little changes, and the cosmic carbones even longer. Are they going to remake these wheels or come out with new ones?

I'm pretty sure it was 2000, and I think 2002 was the first year of the SSC, so 5 years, either way they are old, and the carbones even older. Mavic wheels are nice, but there getting behind times, especially the carbons, at 2000g for a wheel set thats really heavy, time to use higher modulus carbon don't you think?

The first the world could see the Mavic Ksyrium was when Armstrong rode the 1999 tour with it (his first after surviving cancer). The next year they were availeble in the shop. 100 % sure about that.

cosmic is amazing on flat roads
there arent a lot of wheels that are as stiff as cosmic
thats why a lot pro riders use them...
(me to sometimes)
but you have to buy them for tubular

No!!!! The pro riders use the Cosmic Carbon only for money
The best pro riders use Ada Weels (Amstrong, Urlich ...)

the bikes of the pro riders dont have to be lighter than 7 or 7,5 kg
with their power there would be to much flex on the bike
so they choose the stiffest wheels
but it's true the best riders of the world use LIGHTWEIGHT and a few use ada (millar...)
be sure they wouldnt take cosmics if it isn't good!

I'm not saying they are not good, they are, but I'm saying they are kinda old and definatly heavier then most high end wheels. You think they could redesign them to be lighter, but I guess it's not very easy.

And pros bike have a weight limit of 6.8k, and from what I've been hearing with cannondale it will be dropped to either 6.6 or 6.4k in the next season or two. YEAH!
