Hi,

Does anyone have experience with the products from B-T-P? Specifically I'm interested in:

1.: Aramid front derailleur clamp.
2.: Carbon clamps for the STI grips. (are those bolts alloy?)
3.: Aramid seat post clamp.

Opinions based on actual real world experience thanks.

Hi,
Ive been and am using all these three items.
The derailleur clamp, my first one broke. The new one which is a new design, the clampingbold also holds the derailleur on the clamp, is still in one piece but ive used it only like 1000 km.
The clamps for the ergopowers are working fine, indeed the bold is alloy, the seatpostclamp is also still holding, these latest two items last now for around 5000 km.

Thanks a lot for the feedback Jozuph, much appreciated! I guess the only real obstacle now is price...

I can pretty much second exactly what jozuph said. First front deraileur clamp broke, have done them on 3 more bikes since then, and all are working fine.(make sure you use really hot water to install it)

Lever clamps with alloy bolts are working well.

Biggest surprise to me was in the strength of the seat collar, doing a test on its strength, I learned that you will actually break the bolt before the collar even creaks.

What you're saying is that it should be "prepped" in close to boiling water to make it softer / more elastic for installation, interesting!

So, where would be the economically most sane place to order these parts?

Anybody tried the BTP cable adjusters yet? They look a lot better and lighter than the big ugly metal in-line ones.

Like 10-15 seconds in water of around 70 degrees celsius. It says it also in the manual [well little copied notes:] Why dont you order directly at Bernard Langerbein ?

ps, the replacement after the first broke was very fast and without trouble.

Hello Knut,

I have many miles of use on the Aramid seat post clamp. Like everyone else has said, it is very strong.

I owned the carbon clamps for Campy Ergos but the idea of snapping the alloy bolt while I'm climbing on the hoods is scary. For that reason I sold the clamps and never installed them. I may be wrong here but the use of an alloy bolt in this area is too risky IMHO. It may be fine for those World Record bikes that are never ridden more than 100 miles in their lifetime, but my lightweight bike is ridden for many 1000's of miles.

getting of the subject a bit but that derosa prototype is awesome some nice stuff on fairwheelbikes
