Got my shiny new 3T Palladio LTD Seatpost in the mail yesterday (it was delayed coming out of Italy - along with everything/everyone else !) It looks *very* nice.

Only problem is that it won't fit around the rails on *ANY* of my Selle Italia SLR Saddles. Not the Carbonio, and not the regular (Titanium rail) SLR.
I was incredibly bummed. Only then did I (belatedly) do my homework - and read the Owners Manual - which shows that it is only intended for use
on 7mm Round Rails. :-( No dice on returning it to 3T - even though they have no mention of it on their Web site - it *is* disclosed in the Manual.
... so it's on "the bay" now.

Here's the problem - for those interested - the little aluminum piece has to go around the saddle rail - and it just doesn't.
It's over 1mm off on the SLR rails (carbon or titanium).

So what is using a 7mm rail??? Its not like the SLR is some odd ball saddle, or some old saddle. I would imagine that a lot if not all the fizik rails are the same as the slr. If I could fins my calipers I would measure a couple of mine up, but alass my calipers a lost somewhere in my move....

Prologo and Fizik both have 7 mm thick rails.

The Fizik kium and manganese rails are 7 mm round and the Fizik carbon rails are 7x9 mm.

3T updated their web site today - so that somebody else doesn't make the same mistake.

Note that this seatpost fits only saddles with round-section rails.
Do not use this seatpost with saddles with oval rails, or rails in carbon-fiber composites.

$40?!?

I know we pay insane amounts of money for stupid things, but c'mon $40 for a piece that should be standard?

It really should come with the seatpost, at least with the Team and LTD models.

How timely seeing as I just delt with this issue not 4-hours ago. Actually, you will need the PALLADIO DIFF LOCK MECHANISM W/ OVAL RAILS replacement parts as the oval end caps alone will not resolve the issue for Fizik Kurve or Fizik saddles with Braided carbon/7x9 oval rails.

Wish I saw this before I bought my Ionic. It is ridiculous to have to spend an added $40 for rail caps. And when I got my post send to me from Italy, the round caps came damaged due to shipping and 3T wants me to cover costs back to Italy!??!! What a kicker.
