ambrosio/record/dt comp/alloy nipples.

i think the set came to nearly dead on 1500g, but i wasnt that concerned with weight (total bike is 7.92kg though, 17.4lb) the guy who built them up for me prefers them over the low profile edge rims (he builds the wheels for the oz distro of edge).

im roughly 175lb and they are plenty stiff and i have no worries about the strength of them. they are really an excellent set of wheels.

Those wheels are what I am looking for. I love the look and function of that setup. Which ambrosio rims are those? If you don't mind me asking, what did those set you back?

Thanks

They're missing the brass counterweight, so they're probably Chrono rims.

True, which makes the use of Conti Sprinters all the more distressing! Veloflex man!

they are chronos.

you have the link to ital-techno if you are in the states. call a local wheel builder, ask how much hubs, spokes and a build is and add it up.

starbike also to builds using chrono rims, and pay for these pixels.

conti > veloflex. actually, just about anything is better than veloflex.

How so?
Having had both Conti's & Veloflex, I find the Veloflex sit better, grip as well and are more comfortable to ride.

Thread is a bit older but it's a great one. As fall is about to kick in I can't help but have projects start to push into my subconscious mind, whether out riding or trying to do work.

I have some Record hubs laced to Open Pros, but the rims don't match! One black, one silver. Purchased used on a used bike, so on my error.

Thinking I'll get some Open Pro CDs or some Ambrosio rims and use the Record hubs for a slick wheelset. I think such wheels look great on both modern carbon bikes and older Italian steel.

A good wheel builder of Nemesis and Crono F20's is www.wheelsmith.co.uk

He built my Red Tune / Silver CX-Ray / Cronos up and they are great.
