Just waiting for all the parts. Get the frame tomorrow or thursday, seat and stem next week hopefully, and 04 Dura Ace when ever it gets in, maybe around new years. It will be worth the wait.

I'm also planning on a lite build for those special occasions. The saddle will be replaced with a AX Apollo, wheels AM Classic 38mm carbons, and a maybe get nokon cables, taking it under 6000g.

wow thats lighter than what i estimate mine to be. why arent you using Cat brakes anymore? rough estimates get me from 6800-7000g im actually at a little under 6400 without tires and bar tape.

Are the Michelins to be used as an all round tyre? Not very lite, but the best gripping tyre in my opinion.

Can you really drop 700g from changing seat, wheels and cables. Seems hard to believe. Seat loose 70g? cables loose 50g? wheels loose 500g???

The seat will save 150g, 70g vs. 220g, I know, it's a heavy seat. Wheels 1487g, tires 440g, tubes 140g, tape 10g, vs 1075g for carbon and 500g for tires, saves 500g, Nokon weighs around 100g for set vs. 150g for dura ace. Total savings of 700g.

The tires are not the lightest, but the best comprimise of lightness and durablilty.

Don't be too surprised that it's lighter then yours spytech, why do you think I'm called Superlite?

As for why I'm not using CAT brakes my bike need to be legal weight, brakes arn't exactly an interchangeable part, besides they arn't as nice or durable as new dura ace and a real pain in the ass to adjust, a no no for racing.

If I went crazy with my bike I could take another 300g, down to 5700g with CAT brakes, cycle dynamic cassette, Bold post, and m2r pedals, but I don't see that happeneing.

You forgot tubular glue: I use about 30g/wheel. I know you can use less but when you want safety...

Why would I use less? That would be ignorant to do that. No one here does that I hope. Anyone who would save a few grams at the risk of pulling a Beloki is an idiot.

I believe Beloki was on clinchers. I think the announcers got that one wrong. But that is another discussion altogether....

They were tubulars, I watched that video dozens of times. The glue overheated from the hot roads and when he went over the melting tar it pulled the tire off the rim.

All right you took the bait. I took a look at numerous up close pictures of the incident. If you look at them you can tell the tires (one picture shows the tire off the rim) are actually clincher. The alu. braking surface may have heated up causing a blow, or he may have simply hit something causing a blow, but either way the tire came completely off the rim. Had the wheels been tubular they most likely would have been carbon, and if they were carbon, I do not believe that there would have been enough heat generated to melt the tubes and roll them off. Everyone just assumes that they were tubulars b/c they announcers said it on TV.
