What's the comparative weight of the Red pulleys, KCNC pulleys, and your pulleys?

Ideally you could reserve those pulleys only for hillclimbs. But swapping pulleys is an obvious hassle.

Nice work.
3 spoke pulleys is a but too risky for me.
You could shave even more weight with nylon screws for the adjuster bolts.

Word from GoldKnight is that the Lightweight RD is 106 grams with different pulleys and backplate.

man that LWRD makes mine look like a larda$$ at 106g as Coloclimber mentioned. So i need to shave another 9 grams for alloy bolts that i have no idea where to get and i don't know french or i would ask the person! :noidea:

Could we perhaps get a parts list and where to buy. It is WW after all :) I would really like to tune my Red RD like that. :D

I checked my spreadsheet and my stock Red is 145 g. Not too bad for stock.

I think we all do with weights like that. The only thing that puts me off is the graphics, although Force is a little bit more understated; and slightly heavier. If I had known that Shimano cassettes run better than SRAM, I would have maybe pulled the trigger.

Hmmm...

I do believe that this was already covered in a thread here, but I'm too lazy to search for it right now (maybe in a few minutes, I will...)
Anyway, basically some guy took a stock SRAM Red RD, then applied this bolt kit, some KCNC pulleys, and brought it down to 127g or something. Then some other dude wrote about is 122g RED RD after adding the carbon back plate...

blah blah blah, yackety-schmakety...

Yeah, it's been covered before. Now if only I could have the energy to find that thread to refresh your collective memories...

That didn't take that much work to find. But I'm still feeling lazy tonight.

Here is my 126gr sram rd.

Image

Image

-carbon pulleys
-custom carbon backplate
-All bolts tuned to alloy (Except for ti pinch bolt. but this is mostly cosmetic as all red RD bolts are already alloy)

Tuning barrel adjuster and spring may drop the weight below 120gr.

Frankie, you don't realise how useless I am. My wife does the DIY at home, I do the cooking. So, bikes are dark arts to me.
