Jan at 160?...160 strudels every week, maybe. :)

Someone should scan Jan's pic on his TT bike in the latest Tour Magazin. The title says something like not the ideal weight, but competition worthy.....then you see his pot belly hanging down :)

160 seems ok for a cyclist but then I stop and think that that's only 10 lbs more than my skinny A$$. Yeah he's got to weigh more than that because of the muscle mass in his legs.

People used to say that Greg Lemond looked fat when he was riding in a TT position because when he'd breath in his stomach would expand and make him look like he had a "pot belly". That's probably what you see when you're talking about Jan in his TT position. When people say Jan is over his goal weight he's probably not really that overweight in the general sense....just more than most pro-cyclists should be.

No, the picture definitely is flabby. Doesn't look like he's sucking in air. I'm sure when the Tour de Swiss comes around he'll be lean. It's just not a good idea to drop a lot of weight when you're supposed to be honing your form. For instance, last year he definitely was too late and dropped too much in a short period. I think that really hurt his performance.
