True synchronicity, but ya gotta respect the guy for putting in that much time and effort to build what is truly 'his' own bike.

Supercommuter: Jamis Renegade...

If the official Shimano electronic is Di2, then this is the DIY2 groupset

Hi,
here a few pics on scale from " Norberts " parts.
He´s a member in our little german community, called " Leichtbau-Anarchisten " , and we´re testing his parts and use them on different bikes.
we´re very proud to have a few other great and innovative carbonworkers in our anarchists-community .
Seatpost Combination, 31,6mm 300mm length
It works perfect !
Time Trial Whelset with Disc, front 428 gram, rear 784 gram
Testbike
Seatpost Carboncover for a Talon SL Funbike
He really makes a great job
Regards, Walther

Oh, forgot something !
Please take a look at the brake contact area, you must see the grey colour !
Norbert mixed aluminium parts with epoxy and carbon, so you have a better braking result and you can use normally brakepads for aluminiumrims.
It works !

I'm surprised no one has brought this up yet.
Which model DA RD is that? It looks like an x-speed, where x is some number less than 10, perhaps less than 9. A 7410 8-speed perhaps? Did that offer an advantage over 7800 for the use at hand?

Tha servo-motor decide the number of gears...
If you want a 14-speed RD you simply have to modify how the servo-motor works. I think that it is the most interesting aspect of electronic groupsets...the accuracy is better so you can increase the number of gears without problems (single chainring setup, lighter...)

The german wunderkids have done great work here, but what I'm waiting for is single chainring wide range continuously variable transmission with neuro-electronic shifting control - you just "thinK" to make the gear increase or decrease.
