Just saw this pic from FWB's twitter.. ( http://twitpic.com/i8fzn )

They are 50~60gr lighter than edge 1.25 rim for a set so we can make ~660gr wheelset with stock parts?

Looks very nice. I'm excited to see how they turn out. However we know they won't be priced competitively with Edge. Probably cost an arm and a leg due to being German. Also, how is it 50-60g lighter? I know the Edge 1.25's come in ~195g. Looking at more like 30-35g max difference.

For a set. The lightest 1.25 rims I have seen weigh ~188gr and ax rims are 55gr lighter than those..
And my 1.25 set weighs 415gr for a set (I am very bad at drawing lots) so they are 93gr lighter than my set.

Sorry Raxel, I had a brain fart and misread what you wrote. From the picture they look very nice. It will be interesting to see how the production versions turn out.

Any idea on a price point for them? I'm guessing a pretty penny. Maybe close to $1500-2000 a rim or am I over estimating? AX parts tend to be on the pricey side. Is this their first endeavor with making rims?

WOW! that weight for a rim is crazy!! Unless AX is trying to fool us, and that it is really a 20 inch rim

Anyone has some info's on the crank's?

Rim price is going to be 650Eur and there is also a 42mm version and a 200g tubular MTB rim. The crank will be sub800Eur.
Step by at the FWB booth at Interbike to get more concrete info.

Not bad at 650 Euro, I was expecting much higher. Does AX drill or mold their holes?

So they are $1900 for a set? the price seems to be reasonable for ax products..

The rim in the FWB photo does not have holes, suggesting it's a prototype, display item, or the holes are drilled rather than molded in.
Just some speculation.

53x12 form the pic i don't see any holes so they must be drilled.

The holes are molded and the rim in the picture has 20h (yes it is a 28in rim as well).

The rim - both road and mtb - was also seen on Eurobike. I looked nice and the wheelset felt pretty light :D
