Found a 2004 (non yellow sticker team issue, 878g/430 uncut) frame and fork for an awesome price. Just wondering if there are any differences in ride quality/stiffness between the two year models. Is 2004 plenty stiff when compared to alloy? Thanks.

Hello,

The 05 has a redesigned top tube that tapers onto the head tube for greater stiffness, but I imagine it is minimal.

Also, the droupouts are now totally bonded into the seat/chainstays. No bolts connecting the two pieces.

Thanks mate. Bonded dropouts would be stronger I spose but after seeing my good wheels and track bike being dropped from just below head height coming back from youth olympics by a baggage handler I think replaceable might be the way to go...2004 it is.

This one was built up and never ridden then exchanged for a smaller size so the shop is willing to sell cheap to get rid of it. The shop that sponsors me can't get me one this cheap at cost as in Australia the frame prices have gone up since 2004 and complete bike prices have come down. Just in the right place at the right time!
