Well, I have finally decided I am going to go with a Storck frame. I just like the look better. If you had to choose between the Storck 0.9 and the CD 1.0, which would you choose? Does anyone have the 1.0? It seems that the 1.0 is much stiffer than the 0.9 and is only about 100g more. Any help or opinions about the 1.0 would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

here are the stiffness numbers. maybe it might help you decide since you already know the weight difference.

C0.9 was 89Nm/° and the lateral stiffness was 68Nm/°. The weight of this frame was 970g so the STW lateral is 70.1 the BB STW is 91.75 so the total STW is 80.93

CD1.0 Lateral stiffness of the 59cm frame is 89Nm/°, the BB stiffness is 107Nm/°

personally i like the look of the CD1.0 better. they calculate their geometry with their fork, which has a rake of 37.5. if i am wrong could some one correct me?

I agree that the CD 1.0 looks fantastic

If this is your dream bike then get the 1.0

It may be slightly heavier, but is far stiffer and as the newest model Storck does it will be the most advanced technically

Great choice. i think its a great looking bike also. i wonder how it would look with the stilleto fork, since they do not have any pictures of it. do you have a parts list yet?

now about the girlfriend. hmmm, get her something nice, and over dinner slip it into the conversation - "oh by the way i am getting..."

Well, I just bought $1000 worth of Campy Record components this morning, so I already owe her something nice. LOL I think it is gonna have to wait until this summer to get it, but I like having a plan of action before I make big purchases. Lets see, parts....

Frame: Storck CD 1.0
Fork: Storck Stiletto Light
Stem: Extralite Ultrastem UL (Any better suggestions for a 160lb rider?)
Handlebar: Schmolke SL
Seatpost: M2Racer Tri-Zone (I like the look of this one over the Shmolke)
Saddle: Tune Speed Needle
Seatpost Clamp: M2Racer
Brakes: Zero Gravity Ti
Shifters: Campy Record 10S
F Derailleur: Campy Record CT
R Derailleur: Campy Record 10S
Bottom Brack: FRM CU2 BB-Al
Crankset: Zipp 300 only if it comes in compact. If not, I will probably go with Storck power arms with some compact rings.
Pedals: Look Keo Ti
Chain: Campy c10 Ultra
Cassette: Campy 10S 11-23T
Skewers: Bold Precision
Wheels: Custom with Nimble Spider rims, Tune Mig/Mag, CX-Ray spokes. Should be good for about 1280g.
Cables: Jagwire
Bottle Cages: Reynolds H2O

So thats what I have so far. Won't be close to my original goal of 5.4kg, but still about 5.8 and much stiffer and much better looking. What do you guys think of that? Can I make any improvements anywhere and still keep it completely ridable and durable? I was toying with the idean of Carbon chainrings, but not 100% confident they can hold up to the kind of torque I can produce.

Wow!

That would be a dream list. I've heard that the schmolke handlebar is not a very stiff bar. I have one on order, so i have cold feet about it.
any date on the zipp cranks? are you in europe or us?
if us go to Light-Bikes.com. i saw that they carry extralite but i've never order from them and not heard of anything about them.

good luck, post pics.
:D

@spytech where did you get the stiffness numbers. is there a site? interested in other frames.
thanks

I am in the US. I'm not worried at all about the Schmolke Bars. They build each one according to rider weight and specifications. They will build it as strong as it needs to be for it to support your weight. But I believe you have to order direct from them in order to get it custom like that.
