Ok let me explain, i'm totally new to road riding and am looking to improve my fitness hence the reason to get a roadie bike.
My budget is not huge by any means I'm looking to spend around the $1000 mark.
What can you recommend for that amoung of money.
Weight is an issue and so is performance but I realise I'm not going to get a beauty for this amount of money.
Completely open to any suggestions.

Where do you live? If in the states check out Colorado Cyclist. They have the best deals for an entry level bike. For 1299. you get alot of bike. Check this out.

Just copy those 2 lines and paste.

If out of the states go with a cannondale R series. There pretty light for they money a good quality. Hope this helps.
