this photo of Cavendish's frame. The cable passes through the top tube.

Thats what i figured it would have to be.. It doesnt make sense to me though, is it creating a better line for the cable (the straighter the cable the better)?
if not isn't it just creating re-cabling harder, and leaves room for water to find a way into the frame?

Bike is tiny. His knee comes in so far past his elbow. I bet he's riding an unusually small size for his frame. I saw only one other rider also trying to do the same a couple of months back.

That's true. But this is not so uncommon for pros. This one is smaller then yours in avatar pic.

Check photos of O'Grady's R3 from last year's Paris-Roubaix. The rear brake cable was routed clearly through a continuous piece of housing that was zip-tied under the top tube. The cable stops weren't used. The best photo I've seen of this is on the cover of Ride Magazine covering his win.

I saw him on Thursday on that bike too! He was also training and my
first thought was: "wow, that bike doesn't fit him at all, but paintjob is nice!"

Did anybody notice Stijn Devolder lost his computer. He was without his computer when he drove the final 30km. They zoomed in on this cockpit, I guess that's why he asked for the motard in the final, I guess he was willing to know how far, also his communication device was broken.

Just goes to show how much better a kit can look with just one simple colour change
