Colnago: Will they do custom paint jobs?

All,
I'm interested in purchasing a C-50 and really like the 2007 Milram Team paint job. The problem is that colnago is not offering this paint job in the catalogue in 2008.
Will colnago do special order paint jobs? I've heard in the past of other buyers that have been able to special order older paint jobs (such as the old Mapei team colors, etc).
If so, what's the wait time?

Hi
Ordering in the US will be a nightmare, I've heard and read of people waiting 6-10 months for their frames. When ordering in Europe, you will probably wait 3-4 onths for a non-stock paint scheme.
Afaik, you should note Milram is not a customized color, but a well known scheme color, as is also Mapei's scheme. When you say customize, I think of a color scheme that not available at the catalog.
Regards

I think the Colnago paint code is TWBK.

I think you want the PT07 paint scheme:

It doesn't appear to be on the menu for 2008:
http://www.windwave.co.uk/colnago_colourchart.html
Apparently Colnago in Italy will only paint the current year's colours (ie not the one you want) but their Belgian distributor is able to paint frames in 'back catalogue' paint schemes. Lead time seems to be 4-12 weeks depending on your luck (whether they have the bare frame there to paint or have to order it from Italy mostly)... Colnago standard lead-time seems to be 12 weeks.
Talk to Mike at Maestro (www.maestro-uk.com) and he will probably be able to help you. I've dealt with him and found him very knoweldgeable and helpful with competitive prices. He seems to send frames around the world so location shouldn't be an issue.

Milram is on white bikes this year...

Scroll down. As mentioned before, that should be the TWBK paint code scheme.
Oh, now I see the fine print in the original post... Yes, you probably want the scheme mentioned by James above.

Don't be worried, Colnago es ready to paint any painting of the last 5 - 10 years with only a small upcharge.. ask your dealer. I did my extreme-c with the cyclocross paintjob of 2006.

Yes it seems so - they get frames from the Belgian distributor (amongst other places) per my post

take this with a grain of salt, as i sell colnagos sourced through the us distributor, but having seen some of the colnagos sourced through the belgian distributor i wouldn't trust them to paint a *f##k* spice rack.
jerk
wouldn't hold my breath for anything outside of the currently offered colors.

I'm not refering to the TWBK color. I'm referring to the 2007 paint scheme which is nude carbon w a brilliant blue (w/some white) prism style paint running along the fork and top tube.
I've seen a couple of very special paint jobs, but As for simple retail, I have no idea what they can do.
+1 for Jerk's comment though... The finish differences can be pronounced and when it comes to an expensive frame, saving a few dollars sometimes isn't a savings. I would simply not buy a frame that wasn't distributed by Veltec in North America...
In fact you should call Veltec Sports and ask them what your opptions are...
They may very well have a Milram bike someplace in stock, and past standard schemes can be done... But anything other than a distributor's answer is simply speculation.

You could always buy a used frame and send it to a paint specialist.
They would be able to copy a team design or do something unique for you.
If it were me I would use Sem custom paints. I am fairly certain they did madcow's Parlee and I they definately can copy 'Nago schemes (check out the LX11 on their website).
I expect lead times are less than that from Colnago in italy.

it would be cheaper to buy the frame directly thru colnago distributor & select the paint scheme you want. to have someone replicate a paintjob will cost lots of $ because they have to copy it. the parlee paintjob of madcow's cost $5,000 because of the detail involved.
I ordered mine custom geometry and custom paint (modified twbk) If they´ve done it or not has yet to be seen. All I´ve received is an OK fax on the geometry and now I´m told it´s in in the mail. I´ve waited 6 months btw. To say the least I´m very curious to see the frame.
The extra charge for this was minimal compared to the cost of the frame.
You can´t order custom paint or sizing trough the US distributor If you´re american or living across the little atlantic pond you´ll have to order from a European distributor and it will probably be cheaper anyway.
