Pulley bolts are M5X? but they are ti. Limit screws are M3 and steel. Back plate from CF would be vice choice.

The alu limit screws from a DA derraileur will fit in it. SRP has alu pulley bolts. The cable bolt could be alu? Pull all the steel pivots out of it and replace with Ti. The springs could be made out Ti.

I got my record RD modified by Poshbikes (Kent England; www.poshbikes.com) last year. All the nuts & bolts were changed and the rear aluminium plate was replaced with carbon. Not sure about warrenty but I've had no problems thus far.

My DA7800 rear mech weighs only 168g.

Tuned with:
SRP kit - Ti Pivot bolt / Al pulley wheel bolts
Alu Cable bolt
removed the barrell adjuster - already have adjusters on my XT mtb shifters.

Before modifications it came in at an honest 180g (after 1g of grease was removed - the green stuff Shimano put to much of on)

Does the campagnolo 10 speed rear mech function better than the DA7800?
Is the Campag tunable to a lower weight that the DA7800?
Is the Camag more durable?
Just wondering what the benefits were Vs Shimano.

You may also want to consider getting some cheap pulley wheels and drilling them. 2mm or 3mm drill bit and either single holes or 2 holes joined. The pulley wheels are surprisingly strong.

Deore or 105 pulley wheels should be cheap to pick-up and practice on.

Lot of effort for approx 5g saved.

 Puts you in the "ultimate ww" section of odd-balls too
