"The shoe shown to Cyclingnews features aluminum T-nuts however Bont is considering using carbon T-nuts which could come at a saving of 14-20 grams"
Putting under 150g...
Damnit!
Now I have to postpone my purchase again. And my old shoes are really beginning to smell...
.
I love you guys. Seriously.

Can someone with a pair of Bont's post a picture of their soles for me please? I sent my first pair back to Bont as the holes were drilled differently on each show. The replacement pair was drilled the same way. I have asked Bont if they are all drilled this way but so far no response. Below is a picture of my shoes and measurements.

Holes not being of the same level? Those are big QA issues mate that are such an inconvenience too.....light....nice aesthetics and looks like performance wise it has a lot of technical advantages. However, they have to be better in QA before they get my money.

For now I will stay with SIDIs. Top notch quality, fit and stiffness.

We will see after the SIDIs die...I might make the jump to Bont.

Any news, pics, or anything here? It's almost spring, right?

I have one of these on order since Nov last year and am told they would ship soon. They have apparently been tested and approved by Michael Rogers already in the meantime.
Owning resp. having owned both the three laces as well as the buckle version of the A-One for over two years time now I think I can draw a pretty good comparison there. Bont definitely is a very nice company!

No idea but I know D2 does that. They adjust the holes based on the balls of your feet, which vary if your feet aren't the same length.

Correct D2 does do that as I have a pair of D2 and they mentioned it to me when I received the shoes. But the Bonts are not custom other than the heat moldable part so they wouldn't be drilled for my feet like the D2 were if that makes sense. The Bont sole would be the same for everyone who buys them. The Bont holes are drilled differently side to side though not vertically. So the right shoe is drilled more in the center while the left is drilled to the inside.

The most frustrating part is that Bont was always quick to answer my emails when I first contacted them (and I mean within minutes) but now no contact for several days and emails to both the USA distributor and the main office in Australia. My guess is that they are all drilled this way as what are the odds of receiving 2 pairs that are both drilled 5mm different? I guess their 16 points of inspection didn't include lining the cleat holes up correctly!

Still a nice shoe and more comfortable to me than my D2 and several pairs of Shimano heat moldable, just odd that such a nice shoe wouldn't have something as important as cleat holes drilled the same.

Tomorrow I am driving down to San Diego so I'll stop by Nytro and check out some of their Bont shoes to see if they are drilled the same.

I was going to buy a pair of Bonts, but this drilling issue has me considering other brands (Specialized, Lake).

Apparently, these Zero Compromise shoes are 225g each in size 15. I wonder what they are in my size...

Cycling News just put up a review of the A-One. Bottom line was that they loved the shoe but were a bit unhappy with the "finish" work on the shoe. They are right though, for a shoe costing as much as the A-One it should have better finish coming away from the factory and not have glue showing, etc.

However, they did say the shoe is incredibly stiff and liked the air flow into the shoe.

My biggest complaint with mine is I had to start using 8mm cleat bolts-- the others are too long and I could feel them thru the insole.

Not much of a complaint and was easily fixable.

What size are you?

As a partner in the Zerocompromise shoes, I can tell you that other pairs we have made in size 44 weighted 162g each, note these are not a special light version this is the standard version. The size 15 pairs were made for 3 time Olympic Rowing Gold medalist Drew Ginn who is now doing some cycling, he is a big guy and puts out ALOT of power. I have done a pair of special lightweight shoes for a client that weighted 124g in a size 38.

Do you have any information on availability of the climbing/Zerocompromise shoe?

Another question, for Bont owners; is anyone here on the 'narrow' version? If so, was that based on fitting the shoe or on foot tracing/molding? And what foot width/length did you come up with?

I tried on a pair of A1's and while the general size is right, they're a bit wide. That's not that strange, since they're not heat-molded yet, but I can't try that in the shop. Bont advised (with a quick reply) to use the foot tracing paper. I'd like to know other peoples experiences with this, though. I find the tracing a bit awkward. Keeping the pen vertical means I'm tracing my anklebone, giving a rather odd trace.
