I was searching Ebay for TCR Aero frames and came across this auction for a TCR Advanced frameset (with headset and seatpost?) available in - drum roll please - T-Mobil colors that quote "THE FRAME SET THAT TEAM T-MOBILE JUST WON THE 2004 Tour de France On ..."

T-Mobile did win the team competition in the TDF.

Where does the clairvoyance come in?

Okay that is a good point! Regardless though the frame in the image on the auction is not yet available as a production frameset in the US. More importantly, the image posted for the auction is for a frameset with an integrated seat mast - if that is the frame that is being auctioned, then why would the seller include a Giant brand seat post?

I am not denying that the Ebay user account for this auction has some extensive feedback - makes it a prime target for hackers on phishing trips. I also find the use of static images from the Giant website to be suspicious so I emailed the seller asking for some "live" images several hours ago and have yet to get a response. As far as I have been able to determine (from a call to Giant), considering that the auction originated in the US, unless the auction is for a QC reject or a prototype dealt under the table, there is simply no way there can be an auction for that item as it is not yet available as a production version from Giant in the US. Finally, I know I am new here but even if it is a legitimate auction, there likely would be not be any kind of warranty on that frameset - at least not from Giant.

weird........his seller name"I...sell low101" is a name I have bought from before, not sure if it is really him or not. If it is him, he is a great seller. I believe his seller name was stolen...........

Okay, I am going to admit that I jumped the gun! The seller just emailed me digital pictures and Superlight is corect, the auction is for a limited edition 04' TCR Composite that is painted in T-Mobile colors - not a TCR Advanced as the image in the auction implied! I stand corrected.

those TCRs with tmobile colors are sold in europe - Germany and France primarily. But the guy was wrong to use TCR Advanced foto. And it ISNT the frame that Tmobile rode in this year's TdF. They rode it earlier in the season but not the TdF.

You didn't jump the gun - the guy is misrepresenting. He might have good rep - but he is misrepresenting the product he offers.

I could grab some campy veloce parts and sell it. Then only put pics of record and say "Campy grouppo TdF teams rode in 2004!"
