Does anyone have any experience with this stem? It looks like the only Easton carbon, 2 bolt solution in a 26.0. Was it a bad design and they stopped making it for that reason? Does anyone have a pic of one on their bike?

Thanks guys,
Ryan

I hate that bear trap. It's given me a lot of frustration...I kept adjusting it every other ride even with locktite it didn't work...it kept coming loose. :x But some have had good luck with it so they say. So now I use Extralite Ultrastar with a M6 countersunk screw and carbon top cap...it's heavier but works better. Cheers.

My bike currently has the Beartrap and I have not had any problems so far. I just wonder how well the collet style stem holds. It looks chunkier at the fork connection. I am thinking they stopped making it like that if they had slippage issues.

IMAGEKING< do you have a picture of that stem from above to get an idea how fat the back end is?

Thanks,
Ryan

I didn't take any pix from the back but its not that bulky....I did get it tight but I never really trusted it enough to go flying down Alpine Cols
