Storck Bicycle Wins Two iF Design Golds

MAY 28, 2004 -- BAD CAMBERG, Germany (BRAIN)--At the recent iF design contest, a prestigious competition put on by the International Forum Design since 1954, judges handed out 15 gold awards--German bicycle maker Storck Bicycle won two.

More then 1,800 products from more than 30 countries were evaluated by the iF Design panel of judges.

Storck Bicycle won for its Scenario Carbon road bike--which boasts a 55cm frame weight of a scant 985 grams--and its full-suspension Organic Light.

Storck was competing against the likes of Audi, Loewe, NEC Deutschland and Apple Computer.

As one involved in design, I can say that this is impressive news. The standards for these awards are very high, based on visual, technological and innovation concerns. The competition is tough. They don't mean these are necessarily the absolute "best" products, in a pure technological sense, that is not the point of these awards, but this is a very high honor nonetheless. Congratulations Storck.
