I'm a bit late but I hope you get better cadence, from talking with you before you seem like a really nice guy, so all the best to you

That said, its not a healthy time to be a ww/former-ww from the sound of it, with not just cadence in trouble.

A speedy recovery to you cadence.
In that perspective who cares about a crankset?

Why, I bet Cadence90 does. At least in my experience, nothing is more motivating during convalescence, physical therapy, a hospital stay, or summat than thinking and/or dreaming about getting out to do the things you love to do. I bet ol' Cadence90 would be tickled pink to have a new set of cranks show up at his door.

Get well soon, Cadence. :soon:

Boonen, Casran, skill, mrowkoob, alienator:
I've "known" most of you a long time; it feels real good to still be around, and to be able to chat with you all.
Yes, skill, times are tough for others too.
I really did not intend to turn this thread into this discussion, not at all.
But I do appreciate the kind messages and PMs very much.

alien, mrowkoob: you're both right: I feel very lucky to be alive, and my life/health is #1 right now, but planning a new build/bike/etc sure helps the convalescence. I stare at my bike everyday, with love!
I'm not that old, so as soon as I can ride again I will; and in 8 weeks I would love those ZGs at my door! :)
'07 will be about recovery; in '08 I want a California triple Crown jersey, earned.... 8)

Thanks all, very much. :D

Very true, Lee. I wouldn't joke about that kind of thing. I was scared.
But I will be fine, with work/medicine/etc.
Thanks to you and Luc for the kind words.

And now, back to the ZG release-date lotto!

cadence, get well soon! my advice to you is to drink more red wine! :)

I got this email from Ted when I wrote him to ask about how things were coming. He told me it was ok to post it.

I have been working steadily at refining the crank - it's been slow with many failed attempts at lighter and stronger than Dura Ace; and I admit, sadly enough, that this has been a tougher nut to crack than the brake project. When we got 99% there we let people know it was coming soon and in fact I was about to release in November when I had a radical idea for improving rigidity. However, we have done it. There have been several radical ideas in my approach to rigidity that are working out and I hoped to get my provisional filed before this email so that I could share them with you but I knew you were waiting on something from me... hold on for the details.

I know the wait has been long, but please just be a patient a few more weeks; we're coming to the home stretch on this long project.

I've only written to you, so feel free to post this if you like.

Thanks,

Ted Ciamillo

With all the development prototypes and refinements, he is going to have to sell these things for a grand to make any money on them.

Thanks for keeping us updated, drjones96. I like the honesty of Ted Ciamillo. I'm really looking forward to have the final product in my hands. :)

Couldn't agree more
Ted, if you are reading this, take all the time you need to get these exactly like you want them to be and don't mind us impatient ww's
The people on the list should just be happy to be on there in the first place and for the people wanting to buy them it's also in their interest to get these as good as they can get!

Looking forward to seeing the results :D
