hi folks,
while out on a quick blast evening i pu*****ed on my way home. no biggie, just swap the tube. all was going smoothly until i took the pump and was met with a soul destroying hiss as the valve snapped off... bum.
so it was a nice 4 mile walk home for me.
so what does the weight weenie collective do in a situation like this, do you phone parents, spouce, friends or taxis to get you home?
in hindsight i should have carried a repair kit... you live and learn!

I've done a 27 mile walk home in winter in scotland... 4 miles... not so bad :) Fortunately those were the days before me wearing carbon soled shoes. One advantage of living on Oahu, Hawaii is that $2 gets you just about anywhere on the bus and they have 2-3 bike, bike racks on the front!

the 4 miles wasn't too bad, but like you say carbon soled shoes are not the best walk in.... nearly killed myself taking a short cut down a cobbled street!

Next time just tie the tube in a knot where the hole is and ride it home.

I think the idea is to get home without walking, not worry about a $2.00 tube.

Yes, a tube with a knot in it will hold enough air that you can ride home (slowly)

Park glueless patches, a tyre boot, a Topeak mini6 multi tool, pump, and a spare tube...everything you need

I once packed the tire full of grass and leaves. Not so pretty but it got me home (6miles). Oh yea, ride slow.
