replacing cannondale seatclamp

hi,

Do you know the weight of the seatclamp that comes with a cannondale r800? I think it has been redesigned not long ago, BUT I find it a bit bulky(for the looks, nothing wrong with its function!). I was planning puting a campagnolo record instead. How well does this clamp work? Is it fully reliable? (I'm using a thomson seatpost if that matters)
