Thompson setback posts
Moderator: robbosmans
I don't see anyone ever use Thompson setback posts on roadbikes. I have a Thompson Elite setback on my Giant NRS mtb and love it and was thinking of putting one on my roadbike(compact frame) as well. Is there any specfic reason no one seem to use them on roadbikes or am I missing something.

I have Thomson Masterpiece or Elite setback posts on about seven of my bikes. Great clamp, great weight for price, well engineered. Unless you need more setback or have some weird compulsion about the looks they are the most obvious bang for the buck weightweenie seatpost out there.
I use them on my CX bike and SS XC rig...
stem on the later as well...
very strong, well made and pretty light.
