Hi,

Is the campy record titanium cassette limited to racing use only? How is it durabillity compared to the Ti/Steel version? Is anyone using these? Also, besides the weight, is it better in shifting or anything other areas at all?

Sorry for so many questions and thanks in advance for helping me answering them.

You can look this up (and most anything else you may want to know about Campy) at www.branfordbike.com. Go to the cassette section and read. The info that Tim posts in his website is a combination of the Campagnolo official party line and experience that he has gained selling Campy for these many years. I have always found his info to be accurate.

I must say that this is by far one of the most useful website ever, it tells you basically almost anything you need to know about each individual component. Thanks a lot.

I might also add that if it is not on the Branford Bike website then you can ask Tim, the owner, directly and he will know.

I am waiting for the prototype Tune aluminium cassette, it's definitely worth it - at 91gram's it must be good!

Is it for campy10 hub? Also, is it racing-specific?

I've been using the Campy Ti cassette for the past year for daily training and racing. I waited too long to change out my chain last summer and I developed a skip in the 21 cog. That is the only cog where I have a problem. The skip happens when I climb out of the saddle. I changed out the 21 cog with another cassette I had and I'm planning on just buying the new Ti cog from Branford bikes.

I think I got about 3000 miles on it before there was a problem. After swapping the cog I haven't had any problems. We'll see since it's time for a new chain again. I now have about 5000 miles on the cassette.

I don't think it shifts any different than my steel/Ti cassette. The only difference is that it is lighter.

I have been using several Campy all Ti cassettes in the 13/29 combination for several seasons without any problems, although, as others have pointed out, frequent chain changes as well as meticulous cleaning and lubing are essential.
However, since these Campy all Ti cassettes have now become prohibitively expensive, I may soon be looking for a new brand.
