What carbon rims have the best braking feel? The last pair I rode was an old set of Zipp 330's that tried to kill me a few times on technical descents, even with the Corima cork pads. So, how do the modern carbon rims compare and are there any that are particularly good?

I am starting to put together a bike for mountainous races such as the Sand Dunes to Sierras Stage Race and the Everest Challenge. Any other part recomendations would be appreciated. Maybe I should just try to dig out a pair of Gel 280s or Fiamme red labels, but I heard they don't take to the large dish and spoke tension of todays rear wheels well. I could also get a Wound-up fork and use disk brakes, but that seems to be going in the opposite direction (heavier).
