I'm thinking of buying some light wheels at xx-lightbikes but which are the best hubs.
http://www.xx-light-bikes.de/shop/pi-9684359.htm?categoryId=55

soul kozak? are the Ceramic-Hybr.-Naben worth the extra 100 euro

or

tune mig70/mag 190? is the mag 160 worth the extra 150 euro?

are cx-ray spokes much better than lazer?

am classic hubs are out of the question because I heard the hubs aren't water proof and that's a must in Belgium.

thanks for your advice

24/28 should be plenty for a 60kg person, especially on CX-Rays

From what I've heard, AMC hubs arent the problem in wet weahter, the rims are :?

Soul Kozaks - I was impressed when I saw them, but feel their a bit overpriced to be honest (though I cant remember if thier cheaper than tunes)

I'm a great fan oif CX-ray spokes, they are fantastic and I've swapped the majority of my handbuilt wheels to them.

I'm on Tune 190 and I heard too many stories of what a PITA the 160 was due to preload issues. Lightweight used a modified 160...they changed the carbon axle for alloy for the same reason I believe.

have a great ride no matter what your choice!

Was just looking at that site and they had some fairly rare seeming combo's - CR-420's with Soul Kozak's, tune and ultralites - since AMC doesnt sell their rims to individuals, I'm guessing these are stripped wheels and the hubs have been sold off elsewhere :? ?

None of the hub choices of the OP are suitable for frequent wet weather. The lightest for those conditions are DT Swiss 240S.

I would choose the Dt´s over the Tunes.

And white industries over Soul Kozaks...

@Skillgannon
In europe are amclassic rims sold sepately. Msrp of 420's is 130 euro, 350's 70 or 80 euro. But they can be found in some shops for much less.

That is what I have always heard.
The thing I like about the DT's is they are quiet too.
I want to do some Tunes on my next build but I have always heard the
free hub ratchet is quite loud. Not a deal breaker but I do like it
quiet when descending :)
My pal is riding some eastons & when we descend & I'm sucking wheel
I cannot even hear mine but his is loud!

There are a lot of problems with Soul Kozak hubs, especially with the rear hub. Price is acceptable, weight is great but quality is awful. Customer service is perfect - in Poland , but hubs worth more than 300e should be more reliable.

Choose Tune - more reliable!
