So i just got myself a WCS carbon handlebar with Classic bend, shallow drops in size 42 (center-center)
It looks great, except for one thing. The handlebar is finished in gloss all over, then Ritchey puts some "rough" strip where the shifters are "supposed" to be mounted. IMO, they are in the wrong place!
I dont think anyone still mounts shifters so low.. Take a look and tell me what you think.
The weight is 210g. These come in 135mm and 144mm drops. I got the 135.

I wouldn't have mine that low...

If I could be bothered rewrapping my handlebars I'd go to nearly that level, but not quite
But its a bit of an extreme position, not particurarily popular...seems abit strange

haha yeah who knows
They do look nice though and i dont think it will be a huge problem to mount the shifters above those mounting strips..
I am making some pics as i am putting it on, show you guys later.

My FSA carbon bars are the same way. The textured area was below where the shifters would mount even if you followed there instructions on where the shifters should be mounted.
Our friendly asian manufacturers must have made a mistake and put the textured area too low.
No, I use mine with Campa and it´s the same. On mine the two roughed areas isn´t even at the same height.
There´s only a single groove, but I put the gear cable on the back of the bar anyway.

I hated my Ritchey carbon bars completely. Worst bars I rode since the 3T Prima 199's. Was glad to sell them off on a bike I was selling. Had bad experiences with the last two seatposts too (a single bolt and a double bolt system). Other then stems, I would not bother with them anymore.
This forum would be a better place if you had to know what you were talking about prior to posting. And if you took yourself less seriously.
