Simoni is just being pissed and acting like a child... he's done it before and will prob continue to do so until he mellows out with age...

CSC was working all day in stage 20 - Basso had his newborn's foto all tucked in his pocket and ready. Why would he offer to sell the stage?

Simoni is just bitter and resorting to some of the most pathetic claims ever... Congrats to BASSO!

To the alien comment Basso should have replied...
"Well I did have that piece of bolivian candy your Aunty gave me"

Throughout all of the race it was obvious that Basso was dominant. I don't think Basso needed to buy the stage. Maybe Simoni meant to say that he offered Basso money for the stage.

Simoni said Basso asked him for money to let him win the stage not the other way. Not entirely unfeasible IMO. Simoni ballsed it up by pulling all his turns he should have been told he wasnt going to get 2nd and then just soft tapped through when he had to.

Everytime a rider arrives on the big stage with loads of talent and a history to prove his talent, he gets loads of s*** poured on top of him.

Let's just pay attention to the races itself and the bikes.

Stop the gossip.

In English, please! :?

I liked the comment Simoni made to Basso that, "Do you want me to say how much you asked for?" Yes Gilberto, let us hear how much the bribe would have cost you.

Even IF true, it matters not since Basso had Simoni whipped on GC long before that stage.

Translation of what the reporter said: "Simoni is a crybaby".

I don't buy the whole story of Basso trying to sell that stage. On the other hand, it is obvious financial deals are part of the sport: Garate could have given some of his price money to Voigt (though not sure), or 2 riders in front can decide to share price money in order to go full speed and sprint for victory.

I thought it had something to do with "bleating", as in what young lambs do. :laughat:

Too bad for Gilberto. He could have salvaged some respect from this Giro, but evidently his sour grapes were too strong.

Why to ask to buy the race when he had everything planed from the start, the picture and everything, at the end it was really easy for him even if simoni escaped on the downhill to cutch up with him and just change a gear and leave him behind, i agree that he crys like a small baby even if he is 35 or something... Bad looser , cant loose from taller guys :P or havier ,Gutierrez is 80kg imagine what simoni felt by losing even from a huge guy like him, thats why he lost his mind and said all those bull***t :P
