I'm interested in the new Mavic Carbone SL (the all-carbon tubulars). Anyone using these yet?

They're a little heavier than the zipps or reynolds, but i'm thinking they'll have the usual mavic indestructability.

they are a nice price too, in between the zipps and the lightweights.

plus, they look insanely cool.

Being 600g heavier I wouldn't refer to SL's and Zipps or LW's in the same sentance.

They're a totally different design of wheel. Not designed for climbing but for time trialing or flat courses.

If I was going to compare them to Zipps I compare them to the 909 (comparison of weight, aerodynamics, stiffness, durability)

oops, i meant the new all-carbon Carbone Pros (1495g with skewers), not the old aluminum-rimmed Carbone SLs.

There aren't alot of these wheels available yet.

I came up with one set, I just put them on the bike last week, to replace the Boras that were crashed.

My ride impression was that they do indeed ride very nice, and feel very fast on the flats.

As for their indestructability, they may be a little tougher than their other full carbon counterparts, but don't expect them to be bombproof like the alloy/carbon Cosmics are.

I raced a set 14 days ago for 110 km´s. I think they are fine wheels. They are not superb in any aspect, but quite stiff, holds the speed good, and not too heavy.
I would instead choose a set of Reynolds, Zipp 404 (if they last), or even Corimas (for the price), as the Mavic´s are priced much too high for their properties.
