I'm currently running an Ultegra double chainring drivetrain. Destroyed my right shifter in a crash today, and my left shifter is looking like it's well on its way to the graveyard as well.
So, I can get a set of Ultegra triples for a pretty good price. I was told by a pretty knowledgeable friend that I can crank up the limits on my FD and use the triple left shifter just fine.
So: triple shifter with a double chainring set up. Feasible?
Thanks.
need new shifters...will 6603's work?

I'm pretty new to the sport and have never really seen the different adjustments between a triple and a double. One of my teammates will help me set it up.
So you think it would work? That's a relief.

Well, put it this way...
I've never done it, but i can see how it would be done with the limits. I would also think it wouldn't be perfect. It will shift fine but the feel won't be the same... the clicks in the shifter, the way the cable tension feels as well. I wouldn't do it. But i think it should shift and be able to not derail with the limits jacked up.

It's definetly feasable but how will it feel.
The lockout screws would prevent any dropped chains.
Adjusting the cable tension to shift with one click would be difficult.
