Do you know what the Mavic Heliums (the red ones ca. 2001 model) weigh? My LBS has one pair that deserves to be put on a bike. Guess they are pretty light, since it looks like Gibo used the front wheel in last year's Giro:

Nice wheels they are indeed, if you can get a good deal on them...... my LBS still has a pair of Helium tubulars..... quite sad, he's never going te be able to sell them anymore....
Whow! That's a pretty damn nice garage door!
I bought a pair just when they were being discontinued and have used them now for a couple of years - I like them : light, accelerate well and tough enough. I've sourced a few spare wheels recently as due to pedal being put into the front wheel the rim was damaged and I found that these rims are difficult / near impossible to source so instead of binning them I got a pair s/h cheap then got offered another pair cheap too so bought them also !
I've been advised to check the rims for the spokes pulling the eyelet out but so far mine are ok.

I've been searching for a set of Helium tubs for months. So if your LBS has a good price on them, I'm willing to help him get rid of 'em.
