Nino is not the only source out there.

Its amazing how weight weenieness came, since back in the days.
I remember it was crazy when nino had his light 18lb specialized mtb back then...

Ok guys fill me in what´s the point in striving after a bike and the components like the Giant when it´s under UCI weight limit anyway? Excepts for the moment when UCI lowers it ofcourse.

mrowkoob, i'm not sure where you're writing from, but in the usa and other countries, much of the amateur racing is not governed by uci regulations, so anthing goes.

for me, it is a challenge and fun to build a bike as light as possible, yet have it remain 100% usable, be reliable, etc. i also like having trick looking parts on my bike, that set themselves apart from the norm.

Isn't this why we, the weight weenies excist?

We like to do such things! Some people like to follow the UCI regulations, but some others like to squeeze every unnesserery ballast out of their bikes!

Don't try to apply the rules that you use yourself to others.

I don't ride in UCI races. I do Centuries and Doubles these days, and some of those have up to 18,500 feet of elevation gain, so a light bike is a nice thing to have along for the ride.

Hey not questioning your motives just qurious.

On the TCR Advanced my LBC has told me that their contacts in Giant said that the Advanced will definitely be produced this year, but they don't think in time for the TdF. Probably August. SO, not sure where the story came from that it was only a one-off. I think they will be able to sell as many as they can produce.
