Shut up and take my money

Must be over £400 when this thing comes out. Current Road stem is over £300.

Two finishes, matte and glossy. Adjustment comes through use of shims.

Okay, I'm going to be "that guy". For 300-400 GBP I could buy every length Kalloy stem in both -6 and -17 angles.

But at least it has bolts you can get to with any old multi tool or torque key, unlike the stupid back facing bolts on the Vibe and some others.

Though I really couldn’t give a crap how aero my stem is in any case. How many tenths of a watt are we talking here? :P

I really like the shape of the stem itself, and what appears to be a very low stack height. Looks a bit like a Basso stem. I do not like the face plate contraption at all.

It's a very valid point. It has to be realized that every component on a bike doesn't have to be luxury priced by a factor of 10. Good component is $50? Ours should be $500.

How to add complication where it's not needed. I can see that thing being 150g.

I like the shape of the back half.. good candidate for a integrated mashup.

Yeah, I mean it's designed with that in mind right.

Definitely not for guys buying into their clip on system or switching bikes or generally dialing in their reach 5mm either way.

They made it so calv1n could think of some ridiculous situation that no-one would use it for so he could rip the piss out of it for internet points :)

Just messin' with you. Personally, I have my hopes up that they don't get too silly with the $$$. Their clip on system is still hard to beat if you want to ride flat tops and this just takes it to the next level as you can drop the angle and get lower for TT's. The adjustability is only a minor adjustment as riders do ask about 5mm increments; it's not a replacement for large stem length differences. I think the stem looks baller too. Dead trick, though I'll have to weigh it up against having a box of cheap never to be used stems in a box apparently (whatttt?????)

Anyway, fingers crossed

top handlebar bolt looks unfinished. you think that they would've cleaned it up a bit or hide it somehow.

For 400, I'd want them to integrate a Di2 junction box mount.

Leaving aside that 400 is a total guess, why would anyone bother designing a new stem with a junction box mount in it? What's the point?
