Anybody used the Extralite UltraStar expander? Or do you have another recommendation for a lightweight expander for carbon steer tubes?

I checked directly with Ultralight and they indicated that the star insert does provide the needed internal support for the stem clamp area. My original Columbus expander was 14 grams the star is 6 I believe. Heck, the ITM and Colnago - which I haven't seen in person just pics - has got to weigh a ton more. I going to actually use a second star insert on my suspension forked mtb as I don't like the idea of star nuts.
